Let me introduce myself… I’m Khia Abanyie CEO of K. Nicole Collections and I started my collection because there was a need that needed to be met in the fashion industry. A need to put ALL women ( ESPECIALLY curvy women ) into quality clothing that can be interchangeable as well as timeless! I was tired of curvy women being depicted in fashion as women who could only wear cheap fabrics or stretch fabric that would fall apart after one wear. Even though most of my pieces are solid colors they have the unique possibilities to be dressed up or dressed down. I wanted women to be able to walk into a room with a confidence that EXUDES from every fiber of their being! When you look better , there’s a confidence that NO ONE can break! Myself and my team LOVE EVERYTHING about fashion and it shows in our garments .

It all begun with my frustration in finding plus size clothing for myself in the fashion world. I’m 6’ 2’ and a size 18 and it was so hard finding quality clothing . I first started making clothes from pieces that had become my favorite and people would ask me to make them what I was wearing . Being that we were different sizes or shapes I then turned to the university of YouTube and PINTREST to learn how to sew different sizes. I began to learn how to drape and follow patterns. the response was AMAZING! I entered my first fashion show and was asked right after the show to do a 8 page spread in an independent magazine in NY! after that God began to open door after door after door! we have been featured on a few plus size magazines, billboards across the country and many fashion shows ; including NYFW! we have been blessed to style and make clothing for gospel artists as well as some reality stars. this catapulted my company to open up a boutique in my hometown of Camden , NJ and the rest is history .
